Summer 2014 make up products !

Hot new products I am craving for Summer 2014 !

Here are some high end make up products I would love to splurge on this summer !

I've been loyal to Urban Decay forever ! I am obsessed with their eye primers and naked palette series. When I saw this new palette it was love at first sight. Seriously just look at the packaging and the colours!  At $49 it may seem expensive but trust me when I tell you that Urban Decay eyeshadows last forever. I have my old naked palette 1 for about 2 years now and it still works like a dream. The colours in this palette are perfect for summer !

Benefit Cosmetic's new Agent Zero Shine POREfessional goes hand in hand with their POREfessional pro balm. This powder based formula comes with a brush. It is recommended to use this over POREfessional pro. I've been using POREfessional pro balm for years now and I can't imagine using any other primer because it really helps me with minimizing pores. So I am definetly curious to try this out and see how well it works in combination with the pro balm. This powder is $30 but a little goes a long way and it will probably last you for a long while !

Nars is known for their high quality face products especially their blushes and illuminators. This new illuminator aptly named "Hot Sand"  is from their summer 2014 collection. It has light reflecting liquids that gives you that shimmery glow. Just a dab of this will probably be fine. At $30, this is another product that will take forever to finish lol !

I am sure you have seen this all over social media. Too Faced Melted series comes in beautiful 6 shades. The packaging is very sleek and beautiful. They being marketed as liquid lipstick with a high staying power. My hands are itching to grab some colours from Sephora or Ulta. These babies are $21 a pop.

Last but not least is Sephora's 10 Shades Of Samba Waterproof Eyeliner Set. I've been hearing great reviews for these. The actual value of this set is $100 but it is being sold for $49 so it's a great deal. You are basically paying $5 for each pencil! The colours look amazing and they are waterproof which I love.

Kimono !

2014 Spring Trend : Kimono !

A new trend that has been spotted all over the fashion scene is Kimono. Kimono is actually a traditional Japanese garment.  Here is a fun fact about traditional Kimono:   The typical woman's kimono outfit consists of twelve or more separate pieces that are worn, matched, and secured in prescribed ways, and the assistance of licensed professional kimono dressers may be required! (Source: wikipedia.com).

The kimono that I'm talking about does not require 12 pieces ! The "modern" kimono is light and functions kind of like a cardigan. Light, functional and with a lot of gorgeous prints and textures, Kimono will make an excellent spring and summer essential.

Body Shop Vitamin E mist review

Setting spray

Body Shop Vitamin E mist

I usually don't do makeup during weekdays but on weekends I love to go all out. I have used Mac Fix+ spray for many years to set my makeup but I wanted to try other setting sprays. Awhile ago I came across Vitamin E face mist from Body Shop. This product is described as a "A quick skin pick-me up and excellent for setting make-up. Spritz it on for instant refreshment, moisture, and protection. With a delicate rosewater scent."  At 16 dollars it is cheaper than Mac Fix+ Which is around 21 dollars.

I've been using this spray for about 2 months and so far I love it!  It smells very refreshing because of the rose water. Rose water is great because of it's astringent properties so it can help with redness and blotches. It sets my makeup quiet well, however, after 5-6 hours I notice that it starts to wear off. This spray is also good for making your eye shadows pop ! Just spray your brush with it and dip into your favourite shadow :)

( I used the spray on the right side: Notice how the gold shadow stands out)

( I used the spray on the bottom swatch. It makes eye shadows glide on so smooth !)

This does not mean I'll stop using the Mac Fix+ but this is another alternative for regular use.
